Teledyne Relays Announces New Family Of Magnetic-Latching, Surface-Mount Relays For Broadband Applicaitons
HAWTHORNE, Calif. (December 10, 2003) - Teledyne Relays introduced today its new GRF342, magnetic-latching, broadband, TO-5 electromechanical relays. These RF relays feature extremely low internal circuit losses for exceptional time and frequency domain response characteristics through and beyond the UHF spectrum and into the S-band.
These ultraminiature, hermetically sealed, surface-mount relays feature a butt-lead mounting scheme and a unique RF ground shield that isolates and shields each lead to ensure excellent contact-to-contact and pole-to-pole isolation. The ground shield provides a practical ground interface that results in overall improved high-frequency performance as well as parametric repeatability.
The GRF342 relays are the latest in a continuing series of surface-mount relays being developed at Teledyne Relays, according to Antonio Gallegos, applications engineer. He said that the relays, having been designed specifically for surface-mount applications, extend performance advantages over similar RF devices that simply offer formed leads for surface mounting.
The GRF342 relays are engineered for use in RF attenuators, RF switch matrices, ATE and other applications that require dependable high-frequency signal fidelity and performance. The relays' robust design makes them suitable for use in shock, vibration and extreme temperature environments.
Relays are available in two coil voltages - 5 and 12 volts DC.
GRF342 relays occupy a space of only .375 inches (9.53 mm) diameter by .32 inches (8.13 mm) high and weigh 0.1 oz. (2.9g).
These GRF342 relays are priced at $33.86 each in quantities of 500 units. Lead time for delivery is eight weeks.
In addition to providing RF performance data such as insertion loss, isolation and VSWR, Teledyne Relays has expanded its relay characterization to include pulse rise time and propagation delay time.
